Alo Yoga Leggings Sizing, Measured: The Chart Runs to 2XL, Most Listings Stop at L
- Alo Yoga's bottoms chart runs seven sizes, XXS (23.5"–24.5" waist) to 2XL (37"–40").
- Of 283 listings in the women's leggings collection that day, 0 offered 2XL. 15 went up to XL. The other 268 stopped at L, which the chart caps at a 33.5" waist.
- Lengths on the chart: full 28"–29", 7/8 24"–25", capri 21"–21.5".
Quick answer — Read Alo's chart by the inch, not by the US number. The US column overlaps (XS is "2-4" and S is "4-6", so a US 4 belongs to both). The waist column does not overlap: a 28" waist is an S, a 30" waist is an M, a 32" waist is an L. Past 33.5", check the style before you fall for it, because most Alo leggings are not cut in your size yet.
Alo is one of the brands people ask about most when they want to know whether a legging will fit before they pay for it. Its chart is tidy and its centimetre and inch figures agree with each other, which is more than we can say for some labels. The surprises are in what the chart promises against what the shop actually sells.
What size am I in Alo Yoga leggings?
Find your waist in the second row. These are body measurements, taken on you, not on the garment.

We converted every centimetre pair ourselves and all of them match the inch view to within a tenth of an inch. The XXS waist of 59.5–62 cm is 23.4–24.4", and the 2XL hip of 117–124.5 cm is 46.1–49.0". So there is no copy-paste error hiding here, unlike the crop row we found on Sweaty Betty's chart.
Two things are worth knowing before you pick a row. The bands widen as you go up: XXS covers 1" of waist, XS through M cover 1.5", L and XL cover 2.5", and 2XL covers 3". And there is a half-inch gap between every pair of sizes. A 26.75" waist is not on the chart. Neither is 30.75". Why does the US size column overlap?
Because it was written as a range, and the ranges share an end. XS says 2-4, S says 4-6. A shopper who is a US 4 in dresses gets two answers. Further up, M is 8-10 and L is 12-14, so the column skips 7 and 11 entirely. The waist row fixes both problems. Take your tape, not your dress size, and measure the way the brand does.
That matters here because Alo measures the waist at a specific height. The guide says to measure your natural waistline at the level of your belly button. The hip is the widest part around the top of the legs, and the inseam runs from the crotch to the floor, without shoes. Sweaty Betty, by comparison, tells you to measure slightly below the natural waist. Those two instructions can put the tape an inch apart on the same body.
Does Alo sell leggings in 2XL?
Not in the leggings collection we read. On Sept. 28 the women's leggings collection returned 283 listings across 86 style names. Every one offered XXS, XS, S, M and L. Fifteen listings added XL. None offered 2XL.

The fifteen XL listings came from eight styles: the 7/8 High-Waist Airbrush, High-Waist Airbrush, High-Waist Airlift, 7/8 High-Waist Airlift, High-Waist Alosoft Lounge, Airbrush High-Waist Bootcut (Regular), Moto and High-Waist Goddess leggings. If your waist is 34" or more, that short list is where to start. The size guide does not say which styles are cut in 2XL, and none in the collection we counted were.
Brands with longer ladders do exist. Girlfriend Collective's bottoms chart runs to 6XL, which we set beside four other brands in five brands' size labels.
How long are Alo's full-length, 7/8 and capri leggings?
The chart gives a range for each length. The listings give a single number, and here those numbers mostly agree with the chart.

Not every label sits inside the chart. Five listings sell a "Full 27"", an inch under the chart's full-length floor, and six sell a "Full 29"". Eight 7/8 listings say 24" rather than 24.5". Only 116 of the 283 listings carried a length option at all; the rest put the length in the product name or not at all.
A 28" full length is on the short side of average. On a 5'7" body it tends to stop at the ankle rather than below it, as our inseam-by-height chart shows. The chart's own height picker splits readers at 5'0"–5'3", 5'4"–5'6" and 5'7"+. If you are over 5'8", read the tall-inseam note before counting on a full length. If you are under 5'3", the 7/8 is often your full length, and the petite lengths page lists brands that go shorter.
Which Alo bootcut length should I buy?
The Airbrush High-Waist Bootcut comes in two separate listings. Regular has a 28" inseam and the description says it is for figures 5'7" and over. Short has a 24.5" inseam, for 5'7" and under. That is a 3.5" difference, which is a lot on a flared hem that is meant to brush the shoe. Other flare styles in the collection list Regular 32", Regular 33" and Short 30", so do not assume one Alo "Regular" equals another. How does Alo's sizing compare with other brands?
At the small end, Alo's S sits close to Sweaty Betty's S and inside Girlfriend Collective's S. At the top, Alo stops earlier than all of them in practice. Waist in inches:

Put a 29" waist through that table and you get an M at Alo, Girlfriend and Sweaty Betty, and an L at Bubblelime, which is cut a full step smaller per letter. A 27" waist is an S at Alo and Sweaty Betty, an S or M at Girlfriend depending on how you round, and an M at Bubblelime. Same body, different letters. That is why we would rather hand you the inch than a "true to size" verdict.
The hip-to-waist drop is steady on Alo's chart. Take the middle of each band and the hip sits about 9.5" above the waist from XXS to M, easing to about 9" at XL and 2XL. If your own drop is 11" or more, the waist band may fit while the seat feels tight. What should I check before I order?
- Waist first. Measure at the belly button, then pick the row. Ignore the US column.
- Largest size on that listing. If you are an XL on the chart, filter to the eight XL styles above.
- The length option. Look for "Full 28"", "7/8 24.5"" or a Regular/Short label on the listing. If there is no number, compare the product name with the chart.
- Your own inseam. Measure a pair you already like, crotch seam to hem, and compare it with the listing number.

TL;DR — Alo's chart runs XXS to 2XL, 23.5" to 40" at the waist, with half-inch gaps between sizes and a US column that overlaps at size 4. The leggings we counted stop at L for 268 of 283 listings and at XL for the other 15; none came in 2XL. Full length is 28"–29", 7/8 is 24"–25", capri is 21"–21.5". Pick by waist inch, then check the largest size and the length on the listing.
