Baleaf Leggings Size Chart, Measured: 54 Charts, Five Versions of M
- Baleaf has no single size chart. We read 54 separate charts, one per women's legging and capri style on its US site, on Sept. 14.
- 48 of 54 put size M at a 28"–29.5" waist and 38"–39.5" hip. The other six use four different ladders, with M starting anywhere from 27.5" to 30.25".
- 25 of 26 legging charts list a longer inseam as the size goes up, most by 1.2" to 2.0" from the smallest size to the largest.
Read this first — Open the chart on the exact product page before you pick a size. On most Baleaf leggings a 30.5" waist is an L. On its three running fleece tights the same waist is an M, and on a 19" cargo capri a 29" waist drops to S.
This is week two of our one-brand notes, after CRZ Yoga last Monday. Baleaf is a different puzzle. The site's size guide page doesn't carry a table at all; it tells shoppers to check the chart on each product page. So we opened all of them.
What does the Baleaf leggings size chart say for most styles?
Most styles share one body-measurement ladder. It's printed in ranges, not single numbers, and every row also carries a height band.

The note under every chart asks for body measurements, with the tape "comfortably loose" at the natural waist, the narrowest point between ribs and hips. If you haven't done that in a while, our measuring guide takes two minutes.
Notice the rows aren't the same width. XS, S and M each cover 1.5" of waist. L covers 2.5", and XL and XXL cover 3.5" each. The bigger letters forgive more, so the hard calls sit at the small end.
Why does the same Baleaf M fit differently from one pair to the next?
Because six styles don't use that ladder. Here's where size M lands on each version we found.

From the lowest M to the highest, the waist floor moves 2.75". That's more than a full size on the main ladder. A 30.5" waist is an L on the brushed fleece pair and an M on the three running fleece tights, and the product pages don't say why.
👉 If you've bought Baleaf before, check whether your old pair and your new pair share a chart. The M on the tag doesn't tell you that.
What if your measurement falls between two Baleaf sizes?
On the main ladder it happens more often than you'd think, because the rows leave half-inch gaps and share one edge.

A 27.75" waist isn't on any row. Neither is a 35.75" hip. And a 39.5" hip sits on both M and L. In those spots your other measurement decides it: if the hip is clearly M, a gap-sized waist can go M too. Baleaf's chart note gives no size-up or size-down advice.
When both numbers land in a gap, the waistband is the tiebreaker. We walk through that call in the between-sizes guide. With fleece-lined pairs, also check whether the lining changes the chart at all; our fabric and sizing notes put a cotton chart and a fleece chart side by side.
Does the inseam in a Baleaf title match every size?
Usually not. Baleaf's own chart note says the inseam is "indicated by the numbers at the end of product titles." On the five leggings with a length in the title, that number matches size S, and the chart moves from there.

Across all 26 legging charts, 25 grow longer with the size and only the 25" Fleece-Lined Yoga pair stays flat. On 22 of them the jump from smallest to largest is between 1.2" and 2.0". So a petite XS buyer gets a little extra crop, and an XXL buyer on a "25-inch" legging is closer to 26".
Two-tenths of an inch per size won't move a hem much. Two inches will. Our inseam-by-height chart turns those numbers into where the fabric actually stops.
Are the height bands on Baleaf's chart worth following?
Treat them as loose context. Every chart has a height column, and 53 of the 54 use the same bands, from 5'1"–5'3" at XS up to 6'1"–6'3" at XXXL.
That link doesn't hold for real bodies: a 5'2" shopper with a 34" waist is an XL on the waist column and an XS on the height column. It even shows up on the Petite Fleece-Lined Yoga Leggings, whose chart runs the same height bands to 6'3". Pick the size by waist and hip, then use the inseam column for length.
Which Baleaf sizes are actually in stock right now?
We counted every color-and-size combination across the 54 charted styles. The middle of the run isn't where stock is deepest.

S is the size most likely to be sold out, and L the least. The run goes further than CRZ Yoga's, which stops at XL: 43 of the 54 charts reach XXXL (41"–43" waist, 51"–53" hip) and 11 stop at XXL. How does Baleaf sizing compare with CRZ Yoga and Bubblelime?
Run one body through each chart: a 27" waist and 37" hip.

Baleaf's main ladder sits almost on top of CRZ Yoga's. Bubblelime is the reminder that per-style charts aren't a Baleaf quirk: its BWWB010 side-pocket leggings and BWWB057 high waist yoga pants are printed 2" apart at every letter. Does Baleaf run small?
Not on its main chart. An M at 28"–29.5" waist sits right where CRZ Yoga's M does. The three running fleece tights are the exception: their M starts half an inch higher, so a waist at the top of a size reads one letter smaller there.
Is the Baleaf size chart the same on Amazon?
We only read charts on baleaf.com. Compare the chart on the listing you're buying from with the product-page ranges above before you check out.
Are there mistakes on the charts?
Two cells look like typos. The water-resistant running legging lists its XXXL hip as 40"–53", while the matching rows on other charts read 51"–53". The Laureate Trail UPF 50+ Wide Leg Capris repeat "51–53" in the XXXL inseam cell.
TL;DR — Baleaf prints a chart per product, not one for the brand. 48 of 54 put M at a 28"–29.5" waist and 38"–39.5" hip, while running fleece tights, one water-resistant legging and two capris move the M waist floor anywhere from 27.5" to 30.25". Titles usually give the S inseam, and 25 of 26 legging charts get longer by size. S sells out first (68% in stock), L last (82%).
