CRZ Yoga vs. Girlfriend Collective: The Same XL, Two Inches Apart

Two black pocket leggings, $25 and $118, and a body that measures 34" at the waist. One of them has a size for you. Working out which one takes a tape measure and five minutes, not a review.

Both charts below were pulled on Sept. 9, 2026 from the brands' own sizing pages, converted to nothing — they were already in inches — and lined up letter by letter.

Which two pairs are side by side here?

We picked the closest thing to a matched pair: a mid-length black legging with side pockets from each brand, the version each store sells the most of.

How do the two charts read in the same units?

Here is the awkward part of comparing them. CRZ prints one number per size. Girlfriend prints a range. We put both in the same table anyway, with a third column from Bubblelime's chart for the same kind of legging, because three points make the pattern visible.

Where exactly do the charts stop agreeing?

Take Girlfriend's midpoint for each band and subtract CRZ's single number, and the drift is not random — it grows all the way up the ladder.

• XXS: 23" against a 23.0" midpoint. Dead level.
• S: CRZ 26.6" against 27.0". Girlfriend's S is 0.4" roomier.
• M: 28.5" against 29.25", a 0.75" gap.
• L: 30.5" against 31.75". Now 1.25".
• XL: 32.5" against 34.25" — 1.75" apart at the waist and 2.25" apart at the hip.

Hips tell the cleanest version of this story. CRZ's largest published hip is 43". Girlfriend's XL band opens at 44". If your hip measures 44", you are one inch past the end of one brand's chart and sitting at the bottom of the other brand's XL — with five more sizes above you. Girlfriend keeps going to a 6XL at a 60.5"–64" hip.

What size are you at each brand?

Row two is the one that catches people. A single body is an M at one store and an L at the other two, and nothing about it is a mistake — three grading systems simply put the cut line in different places. What to do when you land on the boundary is covered in between two legging sizes.

Why does one brand print a number and the other a range?

A single figure is a target body measurement: CRZ is telling you the waist the M was drafted for, and the stretch does the rest. A range is a fit window, which is how most size-inclusive brands publish, since a ladder of eleven steps has to say where each one ends and the next begins.

Neither style is more honest. Ranges are easier to shop from and hide the drafting point; single numbers are precise and leave you guessing about tolerance. Reading both in the same table, as above, is the only way to compare them without doing arithmetic in the store. How much length choice comes with the price?

Size range is only half of fit. Leg length is the half people notice in the mirror.

• CRZ Butterluxe Pocket 25": one inseam, 25", across all six sizes. The number is baked into the product name.
• Girlfriend Compressive Pocket: three inseams — 23.75", 28" and 31" — on every one of the eleven sizes.
• Bubblelime BWWB010: four inseams — 25", 26", 27", 28" — across XS to XL.

That 23.75" to 31" spread at Girlfriend is 7.25" of range, roughly the difference between a 5'2" and a 5'11" leg. Which length lands where on your own leg is mapped out in inseam by height, and there is more in the inseam section. Bubblelime publishes its own version at find your inseam.

What should you check before you hit buy?

• Write down two numbers. Waist and hip in inches beat any memory of what you usually wear.
• Read the top of the chart, not just your letter. CRZ's ladder ends at a 43" hip; Girlfriend runs five sizes past that point.
• Check the size is stocked, not just printed. Bubblelime's XXL row exists on the chart and not in the dropdown.
• Pick the inseam before the color. Colors restock; a single-length legging never grows.
• Read the fabric line. Polyamide and recycled polyester behave differently after twenty washes — see the fabric notes.

Is CRZ Yoga's XL the same as Girlfriend Collective's XL?

No. CRZ's XL is drafted for a 32.5" waist and 43" hip; Girlfriend's XL covers a 33"–35.5" waist and a 44"–46.5" hip. They do not overlap at the hip at all.

Does the $118 pair fit better than the $25 pair?

Price buys range here, not accuracy. Girlfriend gives you five more sizes and three lengths; CRZ gives you one length and stops at XL. Both charts are internally consistent.

Which chart should I trust if my measurements straddle two sizes?

Trust the hip. Waist stretch on a compressive legging is far more forgiving than hip stretch, and the hip is where seams and pockets sit.
